UV Lamps |
UV Lamps are the mercury-radiators that emit UV-range radiation. We can distinguish three main ranges of UV radiation: |
Wavelength range: |
Short-wave ultraviolet radiation - UVC |
100 nm – 280 nm |
Medium-wave ultravolet radiation - UVB |
280 nm – 315 nm |
Long-wave ultraviolet radiation - UVA |
315 nm – 380 nm |
UV lamps are widely used in the printing and furniture industry for drying inks (offset, screen printing, flexography), varnishes and for curing adhesives. They are also exploited in the pharmaceutical, aircraft, automotive and optical industry, etc. |
When selecting the UV lamps for above processes, it should be noted that there exist many factors which influence negatively on the curing/drying parameters. These are: lamp power drop (the lamp should be replaced when the service life is exceeded), too large distance between the lamp and the dried surface. |
